JAY LINFORD
When I first started out in Real Estate, I was just a young homeowner and having gained equity I determined it was time to move up and see if some of the skills I learned from being raised by a greatest generation Wyoming raised country boy who literally knew how to do everything. I decided to buy a house I could add value to. I remodeled a home and gained $100,000 equity in a few months.
I come from a Football background and played on both sides of the ball offense/defense on the line at the college level and had a contract for a year and a half with TAMPA BAY. My journey taught me that talent is huge and can be developed but work ethic and effort are even more critical. These attributes I still look for in football players and people I deal with in business.
I grew up in Utah and I am the youngest of 10 children. Being raised by a WW2 veteran who could always out work anyone I knew instilled in me ingenuity and hard work. I like to tell the stories about my Dad who grew up during the depression in Star Valley Wyoming (Afton). They were poor and had nine boys. My Dad out of necessity learned how to do just about everything. He was a huge influence on my life, being a successful businessman and an amazing athlete he was a bomber pilot in WW2. He saw things from differently than most men today. I being the youngest of 10 and my siblings much older. I had the privilege of working alongside him at home, the farm and work. I found success in my youth through sports and weightlifting early on and ended up playing football at Snow College and BYU.
I have worked in the construction industry in different roles in both hands on and management capacities, as well as an investor and realtor. You can trust that I will bring all of my competitive nature, work ethic and marketing expertise to focus to help you along your journey to sell and or buy your home. I like my Dad see things from a different perspective and know how to get things accomplished that others cannot do.
This journey taught me many lessons about what to watch out for when buying a home. There are things experience teaches that you cant really learn by watching. I began buying houses some to keep and some to sell. After doing this for several decades it was time to put that to work in a more global way by helping others.
An important part of this journey for me was to see the transactions from both buying and selling sides so I learned a lot about valid negotiating points and tactics. Doing this I found that I can reach a optimal sale price or purchase price for clients.
I also learned when it comes to buying a home its not the agent’s job to put pressure it’s the clients. So, I will ALWAYS give my best advice and NEVER PRESSURE you to accept it.
Over many years I have evolved to work smart and hard at the same time using the most aggressive marketing tools to get your home sold fast for the best price. The market isn’t always the same to tactics and tools have to move with it. I have a football mind so I wouldn’t play the same strategy if I were playing against San Francisco 49rs as against the Kansas City Chiefs.
I had a couple that wanted to move to another county to reduce the commute to work. They were you and had just signed a commitment with non-refundable earnest money to purchase a home closing in 35 days. They needed top dollar from the sale of their home in order to even make the deal work. I plugged them into my marketing matrix and optimized the target of the campaign to help them get in contract with in 2 weeks and they were able to get into their dream home, closer to work. I don’t suggest this pattern, however I emphasize that when you need to make it happen, I am your best go to.
